In 2013, Gariel set out with his colleague Thomas Ybert to accomplish their dream of creating a new way of synthesizing DNA capable of turning the engineering of the genome into a process as simple as programming software. Four years later, his efforts have led to his recognition as one of MIT Technology Review, Spanish edition’s 35 Innovators Under 35 Europe 2017.
